We Do Not Collect Account Data

max4.live has no user accounts, logins, comments or purchases. The only place we collect personal data directly is the optional device submission form for Max for Live authors, described below. Browsing and searching the site requires no personal data.

Device Submissions

To submit a device you sign in with your email: we email you a one-time sign-in link (no password), and signing in creates an account identified only by that email. We store what you enter in the form, your email, and when you last signed in. Your email is used only to sign you in, to tell you when a submission is published or if we have a question, and to send you private links to manage your submissions. It is never published, shared or used for marketing. To limit abuse we keep a one-way hash of your IP address and email for daily submission counts; these hashes are deleted after a day. Unconfirmed submissions are deleted after 7 days. Uploaded screenshots and device files are stored with Cloudflare (R2) and are only public once a submission is published; withdrawing it deletes them. To help the reviewer, the submission text, screenshot and a report on the device file (never your email or IP address) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for an automated first-pass review; Anthropic does not use API data to train its models. Emails are sent through our email provider, Resend. You can remove your submission at any time with your private link; to have your stored email deleted as well, contact us.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use localStorage to remember your light/dark theme preference. If you sign in, a strictly necessary session cookie (m4l_session, HttpOnly, 30 days) keeps you signed in; signing out deletes it. Third-party analytics services used on this site, including Google Analytics, may use cookies or similar technologies to provide analytics and measure site performance.

Analytics and Advertising

We use analytics services to understand site usage and improve the search experience. These may include Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics, and self-hosted Umami analytics.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect standard server access logs (IP addresses, browser user agents) as part of their infrastructure. This is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.
