Description

Little Fuse v1.0 - Hearing and equipment protection utility.

Just put it on a master track and set the maximum allowed volume level. If the input volume exceeds the desired threshold, the audio will be automatically muted, and (optionally) Live's playback will be stopped.

When triggered, it displays a handy alert window that allows to instantly re-enable protection and unmute audio, without switching tracks and finding the device.

If you found a bug or have an idea for further improvements, please leave a comment :)

I really like the line "Does only one thing, no stupid BS". A good philosophy to apply to being focused in life. 😁

    I love this!
Thank you for making and sharing it! Looking forward to what you'll make in the future!

No stupid bs is sage advice indeed. My wife lives by that mantra. She left me. :)

Thank you. Great little tool. Actually I was working on something similar but I was never happy with the result. However, is there a way to only lower the volume by -12db when the input hit the threshold? I find this more comfortable then a complete mute. Thanks

Great device, making it a staple on my tracks

distantnoise, thanks for your feedback! I also considered this approach with lowering the volume. But I didn't add it in the end because it definitely won't work if one of the plugins starts behaving incorrectly (like dividing by zero or a very small floating point number), which may lead to arbitrary loud volume levels (e.g. +100db). This can especially happen during sound design sessions and using plugins not exactly as the developer intended, like putting one in a feedback loop

Thanks for your reply. I know what you mean I was running into similar issues. However, great device which you create here! Simple and useful.

Looks cool and seems to work fine. And it's a great feature to have for free.
    Thanks a lot !

Hey, this is cool! Have you considered adding DC offset detection as well? I think it might be nice to have significant DC offset trigger the fuse if it sticks around for a few moments.
