About This Service

max4.live is an independent catalogue and search tool for Max for Live devices with two sources: publicly available device metadata from maxforlive.com, which is owned and operated by Cycling '74 (indexed until August 7, 2026), and devices submitted to max4.live directly by their authors (see Author Submissions). max4.live is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cycling '74 or Ableton in any way.

In Accordance with maxforlive.com Terms of Service

Our service operates in full accordance with the maxforlive.com Terms and Conditions. Specifically:

Intellectual Property

All device names, descriptions, and associated metadata remain the intellectual property of their respective authors and/or Cycling '74. max4.live serves as a search index: devices from the maxforlive.com library link back to their original maxforlive.com pages, and author-submitted devices link to the download or shop pages their authors provide. Author-submitted descriptions remain the property of their authors.

No Warranty

This service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Device information may be outdated or inaccurate. Always check the original listing (maxforlive.com, or the author's own page for submitted devices) for the most current information.

Author Submissions

Authors can list their own Max for Live devices on max4.live through the submission form. By submitting a device you confirm that:

You keep all rights to your device and your text. You grant max4.live a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your submitted name, description, links, screenshot and device details on max4.live, to host and offer your uploaded device file for download, in its search, in its MCP connector and in derived listings (for example category pages and blog posts), for as long as the listing is published.

Every submission is reviewed by a person before it is published, and we may decline or remove any listing at our discretion. Before that, automated tools check it: uploaded device files are read (never run) to list their contents, and an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) writes a safety and quality summary of the submission, screenshot and file for the reviewer. These checks are an aid, not a guarantee: download and use devices at your own risk. If a submission isn't accepted, you can reply, update it and ask for another review from your private link. If your device is also listed on maxforlive.com we may show your description on the existing max4.live page for that device, credited to you. You can change or withdraw your submissions at any time under My submissions (sign in with the email you submitted with), with the private link we email you, or by contacting us. Every change is reviewed by a person; a published device stays online in its approved version until a change is approved. If you upload a device file we host it for download from max4.live; otherwise downloads and purchases happen on the sites you link to. Withdrawing a submission deletes its uploaded files.

Takedowns. If you believe a submitted listing infringes your rights or impersonates you, contact us with the page URL and we will review it promptly.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
