Touch Groover is one of my favorites because of its simplicity and effectiveness. It's a simple groove sampler and slicer to create beats straightforward in a playful manner. You can’t really do anything wrong. The concept is similar to my "Dial Beats" device but more convenient, more simple, more focused, "Dial Beats for Dummies", so to say.

You can use it as alternative for Live’s drum rack.

If you use a touch pad or a touchs creen, you can play the slices by hand like drum pads. Otherwise use the "Scrub" dial, the mouse, or the numbers 1-8 on your keyboard. Note: The device must be focused for that, just click on the device background and it should work.

Your can create all kind of beats, fast Aphex Twin-like beats, textures, ambient pads, experimental stuff and more. Or use it to create drum kits and song ideas from sample packs. Drop your folders into the drop zone, press the dice to randomize them as you like and just groove!

Then save your combinations as presets and switch between them via MIDI control.

TIPS & TRICKS:

The device is designed for rhythmic, percussive samples, but it can also produce interesting results using the "wrong" material.

Experiment with speed and time stretch. In combination with Live's global tempo you can create very interesting beats.
