Description

SBAM is an adaptation of an original script I made for UVI Falcon years ago.

SBAM is at it's core a Sampler sequencer. You can load your samples in 4 sampler engines. These sampler engines automatically slices your samples based on the Slicer sequencer slices quantity. Then, you will be able to play with 11 parallel sequencers to modify sound and sequences.

Main features:

• Use the Players sequencer to trigger the sample you want at the step you want.

• Use the Slices sequencer to trigger the slice of the current sample you want at the step you want.

• Use 6 other sequencers in parallel to modulate different types of parameters and effects (pitch, pan, gain, ratchet, envelopes, reverse, time stretch…).

• Use the 4 Mod sequencers to modulate any Ableton mapped parameter (even VST).

• Each sequencers has useful and creative settings : length of the sequence (allowing polymeter but also polyrhythm), resolution (speed), random step, MIDI retrig…

• Store 8 patterns and recall them from midi.

• 3 play modes from MIDI notes : classic - play a midi note to play all the sequencers / Note mode - each MIDI note plays the same sequence step for all sequencers / Pattern mode - select which pattern to play.

SBAM comes with a sample library. You are invited to load your own samples and play with them. You’ll be able to save and load your own presets.

What is the maximum number of slices you can do in this?
  • Homebelly · July 30 2025
any chance you could make a video of this working and showing what it can do?

yes, a video please!! What i can tell from the description is that its similar to Audiomodern Loopmix, am i correct in that conclusion? If so, cool! I love Loopmix, but would love a max / ableton native version, especially with the mod options.

had to dig around a bit to find this

This was a huge waste of money. It's a clicky noisy mess, not in a good way. I wouldn't spend $5 on this again, let alone 29 euro.

@ awdwon seems a bit harsh! from what i saw in the video there were no clicks. could it be the way your using it? or your cpu?
  • awdwon · August 02 2025
Spend the money and see for your self. I’ve got an M1 MacBook Air, never had any issues. If you’ve got perfectly choppable breaks it’ll likely work for you like in the video. I would typically just adjust the attack to get rid of clicks but there’s no way to do this. You can kind of adjust the envelope via the sequencer but even that has limited success. When you change pages some of the settings reset, I had to change my Ableton theme to be able to even read some of the menus. It’s a neat idea but it’s way too flaky to charge what they’re asking, for $5 it’d maybe be worth the price of admission.

@Syn max 64. I decided to add only 4/8/16/32/64 options. But I'll add an option on a next update. There's no auto slice option yet.

@shinytheshiny I don't think it's like Loopmix. Some concepts are similar but my unit might be less polish but more powerful. I think that overall, it's a cool chaotic unit but not only.
I'll make a walkthrough video tomorrow!

I made a few improvisation videos. Check on my YT.

@awdwon I'm sorry of your bad experience. I updated to 1.01 so all the bugs due to patterns were fixed. Now everything should work fine and saving Ableton sessions as well.
Concerning the clicks, it depends on many factors. Using the envelope sequencer is one of these options.
I'm thinking of ways to add more options to avoid them. Clicks are a pain to manage but I have some ideas to test.

Amaaazing machine! Lost hours in it ;)
Also big respect for making controller mapping live.banks.
I noticed there were over 30 pages of banks. (opening the device)
I have a small problem. If I go beyond bank 14 in my Live scenario (not in Max itself) there are no further pages and also it results in not being able to access the previous pages. Not sure if it is just on my controller and system.. not on a Push here but on a Akai APC 40 mkII ... Latest Live 12... Win 10
but yea. the device is an endless trip! Big UP!
I can*t echo the problem with clicks but I am using it not for breaks in the first place but general sound mangling of ANY material.. .
