Description

A small and simple re-creation of the OG M4L device "XY Pad" from back in the days. Control two (or four) parameters with the X and Y values of a 2d cursor.

Features and improvements:

- Modernized look and feel

- Current day (2025) style of mapping interface, featuring bipolar and unipolar modulation or remote parameter takeover. Based on code in the stock Expression Control device

- Output curve controls, with a switch between one- or two segment ("S-shaped") Bézier curves

- Two additional mapping outputs, with source selection (either X or Y axis), with a small graphical (LCD-style) dragable interface (pictslider!)

- Snapback mode: in this mode, the cursor snaps back to the set coordinates when the mouse is released. Settable easing time (0 - 2000 ms) and curve

- Inertia mode: logarithmic smoothing of the cursor (+ spawns a spooky ghost cursor to represent the smoothed signal), simulating inertia. With smoothing time parameter

- Global depth control

Reuses some code from the stock Expression control device. Licensing is subject to future change; in general, please don't sell this device or any derivative of it.

Release 0.1.1 is a pre-release version. There are bugs!

Very cool device.  Just a heads up the .amxd I download for this site does not load on my Mac, however the .amxd I download from GitHub work worked just fine.

    Thanks for checking it out!
Might have been the unfrozen version that I uploaded here by mistake; I've replaced it with the same file that is on GitHub.

Hi, this device is great! But the download from this site doesn't load on windows either, at least not for me. Only the download from Github worked.

Huh, I don't know what is going on with that, but I've tried re-freezing and re-uploading both here and on GitHub. The 0.1.1 release is still on GitHub if anyone needs it.

Sorry; looks like a bug with the maxforlive.com website; I can't seem to replace the device file here. Please use the GitHub link for now!
