Description
This is a free controller that you can use to automate and control your Roland System-1 synthesizer. It includes all the features from Roland’s updates up to V1.20.
Features:
- All features from V1.20 have been implemented;
- 6 new waveforms for oscillators
- The ability to change the bender range
- Coarse tuning for OSC2
- Properly named controls for automation
Usage:
1. Drop the controller on an empty MIDI track.
2. Drop an External Instrument device after it. Find it under Instruments > External Instrument.
3. Pick your System-1 as the MIDI out from the External Instrument to send MIDI data to System-1.
Knob changes work without setting System-1 as the MIDI input- the plugin does not require you to have the System-1 as the MIDI input on your channel to capture knob changes from the System-1. All MIDI CC channels have been wired up for you.

I'm having trouble getting it to recognize a few controls when using the System-1 hardware:
-Any of the Osc1 and Osc2 waveform types selected from the second variation (the new waveforms)
-Polyphony selection
Those seem to work in the opposite direction. That is, I can change those parameters in Ableton via mouse or Push and the System-1 hardware responds. It's just when using the System-1 hardware that the device doesn't respond.
I think the only way round this at the moment is to position every setting and macro on the m4l device to where they are on the units preset and then store that as one of the m4l's presets
Then create a list of digital presets instead of in the S1
