Description

Inspired by CC map8. With 14-bit MIDI4Push you can send 14-bit MIDI Control Change messages that can be mapped to the 8 encoders of your Push controller to control external hardware.

14-bit CC messages are generated by combining two standard 7-bit MIDI CC messages to enhance the range of possible values from (0-127) to (0-16383).

Used Control Change messages range from 0-31 (MSB) to 32-63 (LSB), thus giving you 32 channels of high resolution MIDI control.

Just drop it on a MIDI track and pick a MIDI-to destination.

Cool! It's will work either with other devices with encoders?
  • Sten · January 27 2022
I haven’t tested it with other hardware but in theory you can map anything to the live.dial objects.

thanks for the device! Have you thought about expanding it to also support NRPN? Maybe switchable with 14bit CC?

Hey hey, This would be very handy but the download is 0bytes. Could you check?

Thank you wimvandenborre for pointing this out. The problem should be solved now. Can you please report back if the patcher file is now working for you?

Yes, it is working now, months later now I can't remember why I needed it, I was actually looking to send for sysex messages I think :) Thank you for the correction, I'm sure I'll find good use of it!

I designed to automatically map to the encoders when selected in normal mode.

    Hey,
thanks you for this patch that helped me to understand how to globally understand data transmition of 14 bit mid (mostly to csound).
If you are interested, I made a single tool that explicits this mecanism (for my own and pedagogical purposes).
I can post a link to it.
    Cheers
