The device's objective is to capture MIDI input, creating a sequence that loops immediately. For instance, it will play eight notes, and the IMS (Instrumental Music Sequencer) will instantly initiate the looping process.

I'm also not clear on what the "note" field is located in the bottom left corner. Does the sequencer only output one midi note? confused on that. I did get the manual as I'm on Mac but not sure windows compatriots will be able to open that pages format..
I didn't had a message notification.
I guess you are missing the mode switch (in auto when you press the record button it will lock by itself, in free mode you lock when you want)
