gd-grainscan1 is a Max For Live device that I originally created in the Max/MSP Pluggo environment around 2003 & updated for M4L in 2023. This is one of my favorite plugins that I’ve developed and I’ve used it in a lot of my older music. Incoming audio is recorded into a buffer and a granular synthesis effect scans through the buffer in real-time forwards and backwards. Independent controls for left / right side, many parameters to play with. At slower speeds, it creates a lovely drone / ambient cloud out of the original audio. Experiment and have fun!
