Description

This device records the volume automation from the track it is on, into a fader within the device. This allows you to then delete the automation from the volume fader so that you can freely change the volume without effecting the automation. New volume automations can be made to the fader within the device. Of course none of this is necessary if you don't initially draw automations on to the volume fader and use the utility device for those purposes. However, if you already have a project that has many volume automations - this could be a quick fix for that problem.

The math used in this device to replicate Ableton's volume fader was created by Ronen Peri.

Great idea for a device, but it's not actually recording any automation to the "New Volume", or anywhere for that matter. It follows automation well, but beyond that isn't doing much.
Also, creates an absurd amount of undo steps.
I was playing around with using live.remote instead of live object to control/write the "New Volume" but wasn't able to quite get anything working as hoped; just thought I'd share an idea for a starting point for improvement.
