Description

This 1-knob Vocal Booster patch is inspired by the one knob compressor function on Yamaha MG series analogy mixer and the one knob EQ function on Yamaha TF series Digital Mixer. It includes a 4 band parametric EQ and a compressor. This patch allows user to adjust several parameters and two means of audio processor at once. The EQ section are purposefully design for the Vocal to cut the low end (under 80HZ), increase the vocal fundamental(100 - 300HZ), booster the harmonic area (1000-4000HZ) and add air (above 10000HZ). The compressor section is preloaded with a Max omx.comp object with vocal preset and adjust 3 critical parameters of threshold, ratio and makeup gain at the same time. The 1-knob operational order is designed to start with fine-tuning the EQ first then activating compressor last in order to increase the vocal elements gradually and limit the influence on the original mix. It can help users to boost the vocal elements in Ableton Live tracks or channels instantly and is convenient for DJ and sound engineer during live shows.
