Description

Ringer brings the iconic sound of the Mutable Instruments Rings module into Max for Live. Known for its physical modeling capabilities, the Rings allows the user to simulate organic, string-like vibrations, allowing you to "excite" or "strum" virtual structures.

Ringer is built around the original open-source code of Rings, creating a sonically faithful recreation with added modulation options and built-in reverb. It is a powerful, inspiring sound design tool and instrument. Depending on the source material fed into it, Ringer is capable of a wide range of sounds, from classic bell-like tones to strings, drones, and much more.

Ringer processes audio, turning percussive sounds into tuned musical notes, white noise can be transformed into flute or string-type tones, and much more. Ringer can be played as an instrument across musical scales by sending midi notes into the plugin (either from the piano roll or a midi keyboard).

There are have been numerous m4L implementations of Rings, and as someone said on yet another paid version... "It's always been quite amazing to me that you have the genius behind Mutable Instruments making everything free/open source and then folks come along re-package it and try to sell it".
I'm not sure about what this one is bringing, LFO's you'd say ? Musically wise, for Rings, envelopes are always preferred, triggered alongside the note Rings is on... and there are tons of envelopes in the m4L library, as reverbs...

@ hangarsliquides Im one of the people that calls out these hack job Mutable ports that charge 25$ for a half a$$ed port. This is not one of those! Ive used many of the rings ports for max, and this is by far the most stable and useable. The LFO's are a nice addition, the freq mod is fun, It has all of the different modes, and the easter eggs. Its just a great port. Everything works flawlessly, automates perfectly, no lag, no bugs, no crashing, and its priced affordably compared to some of the other ports. Sure there is at least two free versions that im aware of, but they have always been buggy, as well as not being updated for silicon macs, which this one is. Its not that hard to update the externals yourself, but to someone who doesnt know anything about MAX, it may not be feasible.
