Description

CopyTime is a lightweight Max for Live utility (available as either an audio effect or a MIDI effect) designed to speed up your music creation workflow in Ableton Live. Ableton currently lacks a native "copy time" feature, requiring users to first "cut time" (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+X) and then "paste time" (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+V) to place a selected region into the clipboard. CopyTime solves this by automatically handling both steps behind the scenes, letting you copy and paste time selections directly.

v1.1.0: Vastly improved response times for the macOS runtime, Added gating on Edit -> Cut

Time enablement prior to performing the copytime sequence to prevent unexpected behavior

and improve core reliabiltiy.

Hey bugbytz, love this idea but unfortunately it isn't working for me.. can't see how to get hold of you on gumroad.

Which OS are you running? Also which version of Ableton? Just to confirm after you add the device to your set and select a region in the arrangment view you're pressing ctrl/cmd+shift+C? This should place the region in your system's clipboard after which you should have the ability to ctrl/cmd+shift+V anywhere in the arrangement to past the copied time.

If you're on mac, you may need to enable accessibility permissions for Ableton by going to System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Accessibility -> (add Ableton to the list) -> Toggle on. Then restart the computer.

Not sure if this is relevant to your issue but another possible problem could be the language setting on the machine your using. This utility isn't locale agnostic and relies on the english versions of menu naming as well as a US based keyboarding layout currently.
