Description
I’ve been building some Max for Live tools lately, and I thought I’d share one I’ve been using a lot in my own projects. It’s called Chance – a simple MIDI effect that controls the probability of notes passing through, from 0% (almost nothing gets through) to 100% (everything gets through).
What makes it stand out is the UI. Ableton’s stock devices are useful, but everything tends to look grey and identical. I wanted something that’s easier to spot at a glance when I’m in the middle of a session, so I designed a clean, single-knob interface that looks different on purpose. It helps me find it quickly in a busy set without breaking flow.
It’s nothing fancy or overloaded with features—just straightforward probability with a nicer look and feel. If that sounds useful, I’ve put it up on Gumroad here: https://analogwave.gumroad.com/l/chance?layout=profile
Happy to hear thoughts, ideas, or requests. I’ll be making more of these small utility-style devices with custom skins to keep sessions organized and fun.
