Description

This device allows you to turn off or on all racks in all tracks in a group track including all subgroups. I made this device for live performances when the entire song, instruments, etc., are in a group, so with this device you can create a single automation to turn off all racks in that group to optimize the project.

It turns off/turns on all racks except the Drum Rack, i.e. Instrument Racks, Audio Effect Racks, and MIDI Effect Racks. It also switches the racks on the same group where this device is located. Therefore, it can be used not only on a group but simply on a track.

The on/off state of the racks depends on the on/off state of this device, so to turn off the racks, you need to turn off the device; to turn on the racks, turn on the device.

And write your suggestions for this device, I think it can be improved further.

    Hi,
Thank you very much for this little helper!
Do you think it would be possible to link the switch to the track activator/mute button?
I have suggested to ableton that they make the activator button to turn off all devices inside the track by default. In nine out of ten cases if your track is muted it is better to save CPU by turning off all devices :)
    Best regards,
    Martin

Technically, it is certainly possible to make the device turn off the racks when muting the track, but I think that’s a poor solution - with the current functionality the process is much more flexible. If you want this kind of functionality I think you can find a device that turns off all devices on a track when it is muted, and along with that, the Group Racks Switch would also turn off
