Description

PhaseLock was built to solve a problem every producer knows: kick and bass sound great solo but fall apart together. Phase cancellation, frequency conflicts, a muddy low end that won't translate no matter what you do.

With synths you can adjust the oscillator phase directly. With samples you're mostly stuck. The polarity flip button helps sometimes but it's a binary choice (0° or 180°) and the sweet spot is almost always somewhere in between. Meanwhile sidechain compression works but adds routing complexity and doesn't touch the phase problem at all.

PhaseLock puts everything you need in one device.

Drop it on your sub bass channel and select your kick as the sidechain input.

A volume shaper curve is pre-loaded and ready to go; It ducks the bass where the kick hits and recovers smoothly in between. You can leave it as is or redraw it completely to match your groove.

The phase rotation knob lets you continuously rotate the sub bass phase across the full 360° range using a Hilbert transform algorithm, so every frequency shifts equally and the tone stays intact.

The built-in oscilloscope shows both the kick and bass waveforms in real time so you can see exactly what's happening and dial things in visually.

There's also a polarity inversion toggle for quick 0°/180° checks.

The result is a tight, punchy low end where the kick and bass reinforce each other instead of fighting.

No separate compressor, no extra routing, no guesswork.

Super useful, interested in buying it. Do you have a video demonstrating its capabilities?
    Cheers

    Thank you for the link!
If I'm using a different volume shaping device, can I still use PhaseLock as an oscilloscope to allign my sub and kick waveforms? Something like what ReVision vst does?

@chinski absolutely! I suggest placing your volume shaping device after PhaseLock so you can see both the kick and sub waveforms on the oscilloscope and align them with the dedicated knob. Then, you can shape the subbass volume while the phase is aligned, which might reduce the need for sidechaining because the kick and bass are better merged together.

strangely, I was unable to drag it into a track, neither audio nor midi. Using 12.4 on an Intel Mac, OSX

@braduro if you downloaded the device directly from maxforlive.com, it is normal that it does not work. The working file is available for purchase at the link in the device details.
