### SYZYGY – Kuramoto Oscillator Engine

SYZYGY is a generative MIDI effect and advanced modulation tool for Ableton Live 12, driven by the Kuramoto model of self-organization. It utilizes a swarm of 3 to 32 oscillators that can run in pure chaos or lock into synchronized, emergent grooves.

**Core Physics & Engine**

* **Coupling (K):** The primary parameter governing the swarm. Low K means independent oscillation; increasing K pulls the swarm into a unified rhythm.

* **Orbital Presets:** Base tempos are mathematically derived from real astronomical orbital resonances, featuring stable systems (Laplace, HD 110067) and complex chains (TRAPPIST-1).

* **Auto-Breathe:** A Lotka-Volterra (predator-prey) mathematical system autonomously modulates the K parameter, generating endless, non-repeating cycles of order and chaos.

**Technical USPs**

* **Deep Modulation (`live.remote~`):** 8 LFO-style slots map non-destructively to any parameter in Live. You can use the swarm's internal macro-data—such as the Order Parameter (R), Group Phase (Psi), or Flux—as modulation sources.

* **Fluid Musicality:** Note output is constrained to 22 built-in scales. The engine syncs to your project tempo but operates entirely free of a rigid MIDI grid, retaining an organic, humanized feel. Note velocity can be dynamically tied to the swarm's current Coherence.

* **Highly Optimized Architecture:** The entire physics simulation runs at control rate within a JavaScript `v8` object for minimal CPU footprint. The UI is fully procedural (no image files) and dynamically colors itself based on the selected physics preset.
