Description

Nerd Bass is the missing 303-style Bassline Synth in Ableton :) It also has a lot more advanced features that you might like to have in a monophonic synth.

What's special about it is the stacked filters (only lowpass) with individual resonance controls. You can work this filter like clay by tweaking the resonace, decay and envelope factor + more. There is also Accent mode which makes the synth behave more like a 303.

Update..:

By now I've realised Nerd Bass is a very long way away from being a good 303-emulation. There are really good ones out there though. The best one I've tried made in Max is the one by Tokyo Live User. The Audiorealism ABL2 is my favorite of all 303-plugins that I've tried. In my experience, you need to work in something like the TB303-sequencer to really get into the ACID groove, and I don't think I want to try pushing the Nerd Bass any further in the direction of Acid, though I'm glad it already does an ok job of it :) I would like to have a go at making a nice step-sequencer though, so maybe that will make things interesting ;)

I've taken some inspiration from the TB303 by Tokyo Max User

The 303 style square wave is stolen directly form the TB-305 by guitarguy93. Thanks to him :)
