Description

A simple patch to get around Ableton Live's limitation of only sending Program change messages at the start of a clip. Choose any unused CC. Create CC break-points at any point within a clip. Their values will be converted to a Program Change messages of the same value.

    Hi
I do not have Max for Live. I am going to install it. But before i do so, i had some questions since you have worked on the midi devices in Max.
What i want to do is send Sys Ex msg'es (to send prog cc & bank changes to external devies-like keyboards) in Clips so that i change sounds on my keyboards when i enable the clip in live sessions.
Will i be able to do this or create such a thing using Max?
DO you have a work around sol for this?
    Any help will be grateful
    Thanks

    niharsavala,
I'm not sure I understand completely. Ableton Live can already send program change and bank change messages when a clip is launched. You don't need M4L to accomplish that. Now sending a sysex message would be a bit trickier but certainly do-able. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody has already posted something like that as I would guess that would be a common request. If you've done a thorough search here and not found anything, shoot me an email at [email protected]. I'd be glad to work on a patch to do that and share with the group.

is it possible to do the exact opposite, i really suck at programming in max and i need something that would take program changes (plus sub bank) from my electribe and convert it to midi notes to call up scenes in live
    is it feasible?

10 years after thanks a LOT for this solution to a major issue.
I shall probably name a track after you.
