Description

Cymbiot is a device designed to generate cymbals. It utilizes phase modulation and deliberate aliasing ("bitcrushing", as it's often called) to create its sounds. This is a very different and more computationally efficient approach compared to the one commonly seen, which attempts to emulate classic drum machines such as the 808. In my personal opinion, it's also much more simple and flexible- changing a parameter even a little bit can drastically alter the resulting sound. I've included a preset feature as well. It can be automated in Ableton, giving the user the option to switch between up to 30 sounds during their song, while only having to automate a single parameter.
