Description

A simple peak level meter that can be quite useful when gain staging. Stick one on your default audio track, then you can always check the levels at any point in your device chain without dealing with multiple plugin windows. Extra useful in racks where you don't get any metering between devices.

The bottom numbers are the current level in dB. The top numbers are the peak level. The peak level can be reset by clicking on it, or when there is no sound for 500ms

    This is awesome thank you!
I really like that it sits in the device rack and I can use it to gain match plugins!
Im wondering if there is a way to increase how long the peak stays in place. or it could be altered to stay until manually reset?
    much Respect!

Hi Hoogstraten, glad you like it :) I doubt I'll be developing this plugin further as I don't actually use it anymore, I prefer a VU meter now for gainstaging and this one is very good https://maxforlive.com/library/device/4687/vu-meter

You could try editing the plugin yourself though, I would have set the value 500 somewhere if you find that value you could change it to whatever you want :)

Im not understanding how to edit it, but if you make it to read the rms and peak values accurately it will be really helpful... Im also using the above mentioned vu-meter from long time. i've been looking really for simple device like this Level meter, searched a lot to find such device which fit in ableton plugin rack, 1st time i found this device i was really happy. I will request u please do make it better please. someimes its really helpfull even though we use vu-meter

If this Peak Level Meter is attached to that above mentioned vu-meter, it will be really awesome. It could become a great device for Ableton Family.
Im not getting how to make custom devices in Max editor Or else I would really like to make such very much required Devices.

Hi vams, as mentioned above I will not be developing this device any further. It is just a simple peak level meter, I imagine adding rms would be more complicated. I really just build these things for myself and share here in case anyone else gets any use out of them. Since I am not using this meter any more I’m afraid I won’t be updating it
