Description

"Relative Instrument" is a free patch create, teach and demonstrate the use in real time of complex pitch class or

just to have fun messing arround with a diferent instrument concept.

The device will translate the input data, transforming a fixed note like C4 into a sum or rest of intervals.

We start with a given note, lets say C4. When you press the keyboard in the the first octave (lower one) the patch will rest intervals from the given note. The second octave will sum intervals from a given note.

So, the firt C (lower one) will rest 12 semitones, the C# will rest 11, the D rest 10 and so on.

While the other octave (upper one) will do just the apposite.

For example, if you have a given note or a start note C4 and you press the middle C (the one that will sum 1 semitone)

the patch will sum C4 + 1 ST, executing C#4.

There is a problem with this if we press too much sum intervals, the output note will be out of the piano range.

Because of that, it is posible to set a "return interval", if we reach the top or bottom of the piano range.
