Last year, I designed several UIs for Reaper stock analog emulations in JSFX—they sound amazing and use little to no CPU. Moving to Ableton for production and creativity, I really missed those effects. While there are cool analog emulations in Max, I couldn’t find a 1176-style compressor.

So I started learning Max and GenExpr today and ported the 1175 JSFX compressor to Max for Live. I’m also considering porting other JSFX, especially Major Tom Compressor (DBX/LA-2A style) and Fairly Childish.

The original 1175 JSFX was developed by Thomas Scott Stillwell.
