Description
I needed something simple for the Ableton Push 3 Stand Alone.
Probabilistic MIDI note filter with cycle-based triggering
This device filters incoming MIDI notes based on a customizable trigger pattern. Set a cycle length and specify when in that cycle notes should pass through.
Examples:
1:4 = Play every 1st note out of 4
2:3 = Play every 2nd note out of 3
3:8 = Play every 3rd note out of 8
Features:
Only note-on events (velocity > 0) trigger the counting logic
Note-off messages always pass through unchanged
Inverse toggle flips the logic (play all notes EXCEPT the specified position)
Perfect for creating rhythmic variations, euclidean-style patterns, and generative MIDI effects
Use Cases:
Thin out busy MIDI sequences
Create polyrhythmic patterns from single note streams
Add controlled randomness to repetitive parts
Generate euclidean rhythms from any MIDI input
Place before any MIDI instrument in your Live chain for instant rhythmic transformation.
