Wave Field is a Generator-type MIDI Tool for Ableton Live 12 that derives melody patterns directly from animated visualisations. It features cymatics-inspired vibration patterns that ripple and shift like sand on a resonating plate, extracting MIDI data straight from its motion and shape. Pitch, velocity and note length all flow from the visual behaviour itself.

Q: Is this just random notes?

A: No. Each device uses deterministic mathematical systems. The same animation state produces the same pattern.

Q: Can I edit the notes afterwards?

A: Absolutely. Patterns are printed directly into the clip so you can tweak, rearrange or build on them however you like.

Q: What's Auto mode?

A: When enabled, patterns regenerate automatically at the selected rate division while playback runs, creating continuously evolving sequences.
