Description

This patch brings polyrhythmic chaos to your Launchpad!

Based on the boiing monome patch, this allows for 16 bouncing lights to trigger midi notes from a drumrack or instrument. Expanded functionality includes options for changing velocity, independent speed, and movement type – Bounce, Rain or Erupt – all changed from the Launchpad itself.

Within the patch GUI you can also change the note lengths, transpose and scale options. The scale can be set for all 16 notes or each page can be set independently. This way the notes can be routed to different tracks, and using a MIDI Range patch to limit the notes which are received by each track. (I will provide a link to my own MIDI Range patches which automatically set their range to match the each 8 notes from the Polyboing patch)

Hi, honestly I would love to know! I only have the LP mini and nobody told me yet. I guess it will be the same but with different colours

The Launchpad Pro and Mini have somewhat different mappings. Hence, it is unlikely that it something is written to work for Orig / S / Mini (all basically the same), that it will work for Pro w/o re-coding.

ah thanks for letting me know. Still I will try and figure it out and update my patches to work with both. Would it just be the Pro that has issues, or other models also?

Hey great work on polyboing. Regarding different models of Launchpad, the new LP Pro and LP2 use a very different system to Launchpad 1, they use the grab/release aproach similar to Push. if you are still wanting to use grab/release but in User mode, I think the control elements have different numbers. It's really useful if you can test on the individual controllers.

Thanks, I guess really I would need to save up some money and buy a Pro so I can really figure it out.....
BTW I just updated this device, and uploaded the mIDI range devices used to target different instruments like in the video.

I just picked up a used launchpad mkII, I see the LP pack devices are compatible, any chance of a updated version for Polyboing?
