Description

MIDIccQuant applies arbitrary-step-size, non-monotonic quantisation to MIDI controller values. You can define three 'Limits', and so define four 'Levels'. Each level can be assigned its own output value. 15 Controller Numbers are provided in this version, and a detection feature allows you to send a controller message, and 'Copy', the detected number to set the receiving controller number. (Not rocket science, but it makes it easier to set up in some cases.)

The quantised (or unquantised) controller value can also be mapped to any Ableton Live parameter, with Inversion, offset and depth (scaling) controls.

If you have ever yearned for low resolution MIDI Controllers, then this might be what you are looking for!

There's a lot of detail about how MIDIccQuant works in my blog: http://blog.synthesizerwriter.com/2018/08/quantising-midi-controllers-in.html

Version 0.02 adds a small input number at the top of the input bar indicator. This allows you to map any controller so that it can be processed by MIDIccQuant. So you can now take an LFO (or any other M4L device with a 'Map' button) and quantise its output!

Version 0.03 fixes a bug that caused controller messages with zero values under some circumstances. The quantiser has now been completely rewritten and works much better! The user interface has also been revised to make it easier to use.

You can read about why the user interface looks like it does in my blog:

There's also a user-requested 8-level version now available on maxforlive.com
