Description

Multronome a metronome for compound time signatures. It helps you find interesting grooves to work with, and generates MIDI clips to reference those grooves.

-----

Place a drum rack after this device. It will trigger:

* kick drum (C1) at the beginning of each grouping

* closed hi-hat (F#1) on each pulse (with descending velocity within each grouping)

* ride cymbal (D#2) on beat one of the loop

-------

Also, just ignore the button at bottom-left. It's attached to a feature which doesn't function correctly. I forgot to delete that. Sorry.

I'm so glad someone else has a use for it. I held off on publishing forever, because it just felt too niche. But it's been very liberating for me as a songwriting tool.

Love this. Glad you got over holding off on publishing it!

    could you update it?
  • greaterthanzero · January 15 2023
I technically could, but it's a significant rewritr, and I'm not sure what the point would be (outside of making that warning message go away in Live 11). It doesn't actually affect functionality.
Meanwhile, the change would entirely break the device for everyone in Live 10 or below. So, that's a big cost with little benefit, from my perspective.

Don't get me wrong, if Ableton gave us access to write automation to a MIDI clip, I'd be all over that rewrite, because I think that could be useful.
But I don't think probability or randomized velocities will help this device.
