Description

There are a few newer synths out there which just won't respond to traditional midi notes (eg: a pitch/velocity pair without continuous expression data).

If you've encountered that, this device can save you the time of manually converting old midi clips.

If you haven't encountered that, no harm done. You don't need this device.

This simple utility massages such a stream, formatting it as though played on an MPE controller, to fool those synths into compliance.

That's all it does.

But it does do it well.

v1.1 - no longer generates a pressure value when your incoming midi data came with one.

(v1.0 solved the problem of non-MPE MIDI clips, but got in the way if you then wanted to add MPE expression to a few notes in your clip. now it transparently helps facilitate the transition from classic MIDI to full MPE data)
