A handy little one-trick-pony:

in my live-performance I use the Arturia Spark hyprid drum machine. I had the problem, that when switching a soundbank, the plugin doesn't play drums for a few secs. So I wanted to utilize Live's Looper to record & play 2 bars of drums before switching the soundbank, so the Looper covers the hole in the drums. At the same time I wanted to be able to pre-listen the new loaded drumsounds.

So with this device I just assign a toggle button of my midi-controller to the devices ON/OFF button. I also map the devices "Looper-state" to Live's Looper State buttons and the "Pre-Listen" to the send level to a pre-listening return-track.

Now every time the Looper-control device is switched "ON" the Looper starts recording 2 bars of audio and subsequently playing. At the same time I'm able to pre-listen the next loaded sound befor I turn the device "OFF" and the looped audio is replaced by the newly loaded sound!
